has sent me a letter, saying he paints the world I write about. He's sent me, too, some books, catalogues of his work. They are beautiful paintings that remind me sometimes a bit of Ernst, in their sense of reaching the spirit worlds through the vegetative worlds, sometimes of Miro - I had to cut out a bit about Miro from my book because we couldn't get permission to reproduce - but, really, Christopher Wood's paintings give a unique sense of the live interplay of disembodied intelligences.
Alan Davie is quoted as saying he's one of the greats of the art world today. His work is on display at Agnew's, but he says you can also Google him.
I shall certainly ask him if i can reproduce some of his work if i ever write another book.
With many thanks once again to Mike for posting the link, I've had a fantastic time recently pouring over a Crowley site.
An article I think anyone interested in the occult / esoteric and Crowley should read is a newspaper letter he wrote in 1933

I hope you're well Mark, I have been meaning to say I got Lorna's newsletter today and am reminded to lay my hands on Angels in my Hair. Can't seem to find it in the bookshops near me, but I hope to make another pilgrimage to Watkins soon. Will they stock it there?
I've also been meaning to ask you, if you are at liberty to divulge such a thing, of course; as to know more of the initiate who helped you. If you can say, who was he an initiate of? A Freemason, Thelma, Rosicrucian, OTO, ect.
And one more, in your experience of collecting information on reincarnation, what is the time between death and your next incarnation? I mention this because I heard tonight it is considered 7 years.
Take Care, especially with your battle plans coming into fruition!

Nick, I've actually found Lorna's book in my local Waterstones, so try there as well... they may even order it for you.

Lorna's book certainly should be avaiable..
Nick, I'm not really sure how much I'm permitted to say about my friend's background. One interesting bit of information, though, is that he used to write his own stuff using Oupsensky's typewriter!
I think 7 years between incarnations may be unusual.I believe that it used to be the case that most spirits incarnated in every zodiacal age, although they are speedier now, perhaps being twice per age. I guess many of us who are interested in this sort of material lived in religious communities in the middle ages. That, anyway, is what I take to be Steiner's view, although many Steinerites believe that because they have special work to do, they have reincarnated outside these cycles.
An intreresting element of Steiner's teaching on reincarnation is that we tend to alternate genders (people 'remembering' previous incarnations tend to see themselves as the same gender)

Elusive, M.B! Interesting to note of the typewriter. I wonder if said initiate reads your blog? If so.... hello!
I meant to say M.B, you mentioned in an earlier post I believe that after reading your blog people have had paranormal experiences.
I've had several, espically in experincing thoughts / phrases of a very random nature by seeing them very vividly in my minds eye, and then having it manifest soon afterwards, much like you've mentioned before. Interestingly, much what I've sometimes found myself thinking on occult and esoteric matters is what I've read both in your Work and Crowleys.
Hmmm, do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the law...
