Remember that every time a baby laughs a fairy is born; every time a baby is born an angel gets its wings; and every time someone dies the world keeps moving.
Death is not the end, and funerals are for the living; so have that party and celebrate.
These were the instructions my father left when he died (some years ago now) and I've just had to pass them on to my best friend. Somehow, I think they're worth sharing.

Thank you, Stef! Those are very wise thoughts.
Incidentally this particular post was originally a bit longer - a reflection on a sort of writing I really like and seek to emulate - but some of it didn't 'take'. I may come back to it.
