This morning a fox trotted briskly but contentedly down the railway line, the length of a platform filled with commuters. Many laughed, as he seemed to be the only thing moving down the line on this very cold morning - minus ten in some parts and the points frozen.
Later I remembered i'd had a vivid dream of a menacing, faceless figure looming over my bed. I looked to see if he was 'really' there and he dispersed.
He might partly have been the result of of having watched the Clint Eastwood thriller, Tightrope, the night before, in which the serial killer appears in shadows and finally in a black mask. Generally, i think, it takes the mind much longer than that to process waking experience so that it can appear in a dream, but i guess that if there is something there - in the spirit worlds - it can wear a very recent memory as a mask.
Sounds like when the faceless figure noticed you noticing him it got scared and left. :D

I have to agree with your statement of spirits using recent memories as a mask to to enter your life...that's why I tend to avoid horror films.

I tend to see things in a slightly different perspective. Ever had films match up with what is currently going on in reality? Sometimes I feel our souls swim in a big timeless soup and some things poke their heads out of it in synchronicity ie: causation is not linear. Not saying that a serial killer is around you, but more that the shadow energy 'he' represents is something you are dealing with on some level. Or it could be you ate something that disagreed with you! ;-)

I had a very interesting dream about two weeks ago, from which I awoke with a similar idea i.e. the idea of beings using memories and familiar faces. In one part of the dream I found myself in the company of people I know, I felt they were watching me but I couldn't interact or talk to them. Then I made an attempt to talk to one of them, who I perceived to be an old friend. However, suddenly my 'old friend' seemed to laugh at me playfully and then the rest of the group all took his appearance and then dissolved into air! I have had a string of dreams lately where I felt I was seeing into another plane but I'm not sure as I have no real reference.Just thought i'd share it in case here is any other similar experiences out there.

ha! so! my bf had a dream about trying to calm down zombie babies in a suitcase. we were trying to figure out what it all meant when yesterday i remembered that he had been complaining about my led zep screensaver which features blonde children climbing up on a vivid dreamscape. He kept saying that as he could not see their faces they must indeed be zombies...
...it was full moon and my birthday so in this instance i blame the jack daniels and my bf's fear of all things zombified ;)
